Current HUD product, the Picture Generation Unit (PGU) mainly uses TFT-LCD, DLP, or LCOS display technology.

Mini/Micro LED Displays are emerging as the next generation PGU to increase brightness and FOV of the AR-HUD.

Maven’s Mini LEDs enable the next-generation full-screen small-OD (2 mm) backlight design, using hundreds of mini LEDs as the backlight source, with multi-zone brightness control and wide color gamut quantum-dot technology, to achieve higher contrast ratio (1,000,000:1) and more vivid color performance (REC. 2020 >90%) comparable to, or even better than, OLED display. Moreover, LCD with Mini LED backlight can achieve higher brightness (>1,000 nits) and meet high reliability requirements of automobile industry without common OLED image burn-in and lifetime problems.

Maven’s patented conformal thin-film deposition technology can be adopted to effectively fabricate small form-factor color-converted Mini LED structure with superior reliability and lighting quality under harsh environmental conditions as in automotive headlight. The ultra small phosphor-converted white Mini LEDs can be adopted into an Adaptive Driving Beam matrix headlight module.

ADB Headlights provide benefits, such as:

Phosphor-Converted Amber Mini LED for Signal Turning Light

The advantages of Maven’s ultra small phosphor-converted amber Mini LEDs are ultra bright, low power consumption, rapid response and long lifetime. Specifically, the luminous intensity decay of Maven’s phosphor-converted amber Mini LED is less than 10%, much smaller than a typical 50% decay of intrinsic phosphide based amber Mini LED chips over temperature ranging from 25℃ to 85℃. The ultra small phosphor-converted amber Mini LEDs can be easily designed into a stylish signal light module.
